Members of the board of trustees and directors such as Ivan Havel, Gabriele Krone-Schmalz, Johan Galtung, Ervin Laszlo, Yehudi Menuhin, and Luise Rinser guarantee the open-minded and spiritually independent concept of the IPU-project.

The IPU-project opposes all extremist, fundamentalist, and sectarian groups that reject dialogue.

The advisory board of the IPU-project includes, among others, Christo & Jeanne-Claude, Monika Griefahn, Ilya Prigogine, Jakob von Uexküll, Liv Ullmann, Francisco Varela, and Simon Wiesenthal.

Seventeen Nobel Peace Prize laureates, among them H.H. the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, and Elie Wiesel, share the common patronage for the IPU-project.
